FOUND:  Senior, male jack russel

This dog was found on the 2900 block of Karen Place on July 25th.  He is about 10 yrs. old, weighs 15# and has noticeable cataracts in his left eye.  He is all white except for spots on his left ear and a black right ear.  He was not wearing a collar, and his finder was going to go have him scanned for a chip.  If you know who this dog belongs to, contact Rebecca at 612-327-6213.

LOST:  Brandy, a yellow lab
This dog returned home the day after she got lost.

Brandy is a 3-year-old, spayed, female yellow lab who decided to go exploring and jumped her fence on July 24th.  She was wearing a red nylon collar without ID tags, and she is not microchipped. The dog weighs about 75 lbs. and is quite friendly so will likely answer to her name. Her home is in the 2800 block of Scenic Ridge Loop in the Ridge

LOST:  Pumpkin, an orange male tabby

Pumpkin is a 4-year-old, orange tabby, domestic short haired cat.  He strayed from an apartment complex at 251 N. This cat is a 3 1/2 year old female Egyptian mau, domestic short haired mix.  She is primarily white with some gray and distinctive black around her green eyes.  She strayed from her home at Space #2 at the St. John's Mobile Home Park on July 18th.  She was wearing a black collar with diamond studs but did not have ID tags.  She is an indoor-only cat that is probably very scared and may be hiding close to home.  If you have seen her, contact Diedre at 575-805-3879.

This dog was found and is back home.

Riley is a 2-year-old, spayed, female pit mix who strayed from home at the 2800 block of Meriwether at about noon on July 21st. She is is completely brown with just a few white hairs on her chest, and she weighs about 55 lb. She was wearing a purple collar w/rabies tag, Las Cruces city license, & name tag with the owner's name and telephone number; she is also microchipped. Riley was being cared for by owner's roomates for last six weeks while he has been out of town on business. Three pit mixes rescued from death row at animal shelter

These three dogs got lucky when Kitty City came to their rescue at the shelter where they were about to be put down (in Alamogordo).  They are now at a foster home where they are being trained and socialized with other dogs and people.  They are coming along well and will be fixed and vaccinated and ready for adoption by August 9th.

These two pups were found abandoned recently on Ft. Wiley

Description:  Red heeler mix
Age/sex: 10 months old/male
Status: Up-to-date on vaccinations and neutered
Characteristics/Background:  This dog was rescued in Alamogordo by a vet whose neighbor accidentally ran over the dog in their driveway.  True to his name, Wiley escaped the accident with only some scrapes and is fully recovered.  He now needs a new home because the vet cannot keep him.  She says Wiley is very good-natured; he sits, shakes, and loves tummy rubs.  He's also housetrained and uses the pet door.  He needs a home with plenty of attention and exercise.
