APA was given the exciting opportunity in 2012 to help some former abused, court-held dogs find an alternative from our municipal shelter.  Most of these dogs are pit bull-type dogs who would not stand a chance at a traditional shelter.  APA believes these dogs are deserving of a second chance at life as a pampered pooch after the abuse and stress they have lived through for months or sometimes years.  And in 2014, we were asked to save cats in the system, too.

Since 2012, we have directly rescued or facilitated the rescue placement of more than 70 Second Chance Dogs and Cats.  Below are a few of the Second Chance success stories, as well as any Second Chance pets still in need of loving homes.
