APA is a progressive animal welfare organization seeking to improve the quality of life for companion animals in Dona Ana County and greatly reduce the number of unwanted animals impounded and euthanized at the municipal shelter.

Action for Animals (APA)

Since May 2012, we have rescued more than 6,000 animals.

The majority of these have been dogs and cats/kittens pulled from our municipal shelter.

We are able to do this through the tireless volunteer work of our rescue/foster coordinators, foster families, weekend adoptions, and on a very tight, shoe-string budget. Please consider joining us!

APA Adoption and Education Center, 537 N. Solano., Las Cruces, NM, 88001
Open Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday 11 to 3 or by appointment.

Tomorrow is POW (Pet-Of-The-Week) Wednesday - we will be live at 8:30 on Facebook and Zoom with our friends at Hot 103!

Purrrrrfection is on tap for tomorrow's pets of the week! We are featuring two of our wonderful adult cats.

First is Chester, a 4-year old male mini panther. He's quite the character who loves attention and loves to play. He lets you know what he's thinking with his meows and his purrs.

Second is Charlotte, a beautiful orange tabby whose favorite past time is making biscuits while being loved on and given attention. Charlotte loves her people but can be picky about other kitties in her space. If they don't bother her, she doesn't bother them.

Tune in to see these two in action tomorrow morning!

Come meet any of our adoptable dogs, cats, and kittens ready to go home with a family at the APA Adoption and Education Center, 537 N. Solano, in Las Cruces. We are open Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat 11 to 3 and by appointment at 575-571-4654; apalascruces.org.

We are giving Blair and Serena another week or so of meets and greets in hopes we can find a home together for these bonded sisters. They are about a year old and grew up together. Their previous family could no longer care for them. Please SHARE this post to help get the word out! See videos of them in the comments.
